Growing Pains

Progress can hurt.  It can be agonizing.  I'm sure turning into a butterfly isn't as easy for a caterpillar as we make it out to be.  That shit is probably mad uncomfortable.

  1. To become a butterfly the caterpillar essentially rebuilds itself. It disintegrates to become a butterfly :D

  2. Caterpillars also have to hole up for a while before busting out. I can't do that. If I hole myself up alone, I'll just end up more depressed and fat.

  3. Change/growth isn't supposed to be easy. It's much easier to pacify ourselves with avoidance or temporary fixes. The hardest part is having the courage to go through it and tapping into the ability to appreciate the experience but it's so very worth it. The best thing about a metamorphosis is coming out on the other side and feeling so much stronger, wiser and more confident for it. A whole new world and outlook presents itself right before your eyes. Our "before" selves can't appreciate all the benefits our "after" selves gain.

    1. That was so well put Mia. Very encouraging. You are so right. I'm so scared of all the hurt that goes with it. I know I won't stop breathing but it sure feels like it.
You can be sure I will be reading you comment daily.
